An outdoor installation (1.200 qm) and a new domicil for the gorillas (360 qm) will be built at the zoo Krefeld. This complex is designed for a gorilla family, who will move in their new home some time around Easter 2012. The planning agency Drecker was concerned with the project management and the outdoor enclosure`s designing. bgk-consulting planned the building construction.

The qualification proceeding, including the concept development for the area`s future utilisation, was evaluated by a reference commission, conducted by Prof. Christa Reicher (TU Dortmund). Drecker`s submitted planning achieve the second placement.

In the occasion of the proceeding planning to enhance the district Dortsten-Hervest, the quarter agency organised a workshop for interested citizens on Saturday, 19. November 2012. Based on suspended maps and pictures the citizens had the chance to work with the planning agency Drecker and develop new ideas and possibilities fort the design of the playgrounds and pubic space.
